As a social entrepreneur with nearly a decade of executive leadership experience, Sylvana Walcott is deeply committed to advancing social justice and wealth equity. Her journey began in the early stages of her career, supporting Black and ethnic minority businesses to build sustainable foundations.
For the past three years, Sylvana has been instrumental in the startup phase of a community research organisation, establishing systems that amplify marginalised voices and building operational structures from scratch.
Now, as Managing Director of Sedulous Collective CIC, she brings this drive and expertise to shape a more inclusive society. In her role, Sylvana oversees Sedulous CIC’s startup journey, guiding the team to establish foundational operations and set a clear strategic path. She collaborates closely with the executive leadership team to ensure Sedulous stays aligned with its mission of breaking down systemic barriers and advocating for marginalised communities. Her work focuses on creating structures that support social justice, equity and meaningful change, driving Sedulous toward lasting impact across London’s diverse communities.
Sylvana’s personal mission to create wealth equity fuels her dedication to Sedulous. She believes in building opportunities that empower communities to thrive, driven by a desire to challenge the status quo and establish lasting systems of support. Inspired by stories of resilience and ambition, she’s an avid reader of motivational books and biographies of changemakers who have left enduring impacts. These stories remind her of the transformative power each individual holds to create change, regardless of the obstacles.
Outside of work, Sylvana considers herself a global citizen with a passion for travel. She loves exploring new cultures and perspectives, finding inspiration in the diversity and connections she encounters. For her, travel is a way to deepen her understanding of the world and bring fresh insights into her work.
