Service Overview

We generate evidence that reflects how systems are experienced in real life. By treating lived experience as essential knowledge rather than anecdote, we produce insight that is grounded, rigorous and actionable.

Our approach combines life-informed and participatory research with structured qualitative and quantitative methods. This allows us to surface depth, identify patterns and test assumptions, ensuring that lived experience is visible at scale and recognised within formal decision-making environments.

We are particularly effective where existing data does not tell the full story, where communities have been historically underheard, or where organisations need both depth and credibility to act with confidence.

Key elements may include

  • life-informed and participatory research

  • creative and culturally responsive research methods

  • decolonised and equity-focused research approaches

  • qualitative interviews, focus groups and community-led inquiry

  • surveys and structured data collection

  • mixed-methods analysis and triangulation

  • ethical research design and governance

  • synthesis of lived experience insight with quantitative patterns

  • insight reporting and evidence briefs tailored to different audiences

Our outputs are designed to inform strategy, policy and practice. Whether producing detailed research reports, executive briefs or accessible community summaries, we ensure that insight is not only generated, but understood and used.

Why Choose Us?

Unique Approach

Our approach brings lived experience, evidence and decision-making into alignment. We do not treat community insight, data and strategy as separate streams of work. Instead, we integrate participatory practice, qualitative and quantitative methods, and systems thinking to generate insight that is both grounded and actionable. We pay attention to where power sits, how knowledge is valued and what incentives shape behaviour, ensuring that our work addresses not only symptoms but the conditions that sustain them. This allows us to support change that is credible in institutional settings while remaining accountable to the communities most affected.

Systems-Informed and Power-Aware

We recognise that services and programmes sit within wider systems shaped by policy, funding, culture and power. Our work looks beyond surface-level challenges to examine the rules, incentives and decision-making structures that influence outcomes. By paying attention to where authority sits, whose knowledge is valued and how accountability operates, we help partners identify leverage points for meaningful change. This systems-informed approach allows us to address root causes rather than symptoms and support shifts that are sustainable, responsible and grounded in real-world complexity.

Grounded & Accountable

We are community-driven in how we work and principled in how we generate and use evidence. Our approach prioritises trust, transparency and long-term relationships over extractive or transactional engagement. We remain attentive to whose voices are amplified, how insight is interpreted and who ultimately benefits from the work. By embedding ethical practice, shared ownership and reflective learning into our processes, we ensure that our work remains accountable not only to partners and stakeholders, but to the communities whose lives are most affected.

Who We Work With

Public Sector & Government

We work with public sector organisations and government bodies to support more informed, accountable and effective decision-making on complex social challenges. By combining lived experience with qualitative and quantitative evidence, we help partners understand how policies and services are experienced in practice, not just how they are intended. Our systems-informed approach examines the wider conditions shaping outcomes, including incentives, power dynamics and structural constraints. This enables public bodies to design and refine services, strategies and programmes that are fairer, more responsive and grounded in real-world complexity.

Health & Care Sysems

We work with health and care organisations to strengthen how services respond to lived realities across communities. By combining lived experience with qualitative and quantitative evidence, we help partners understand how care pathways, policies and commissioning decisions are experienced in practice. Our systems-informed approach considers the wider social, structural and funding conditions that shape health outcomes, including inequalities and access barriers. This enables health and care systems to design, evaluate and adapt services in ways that are more equitable, integrated and effective over time.

Funders & Foundations

We work with funders and foundations to strengthen how funding decisions are informed, implemented and evaluated. By combining lived experience with qualitative and quantitative evidence, we help partners understand what is working, for whom and under what conditions. Our systems-informed approach looks beyond individual projects to examine how funding structures, incentives and accountability mechanisms shape outcomes over time. This enables funders to make more strategic, equitable and effective investment decisions that are grounded in real-world complexity and responsive to community insight.

Universities & Research Institutions

We work with universities and research institutions to connect lived experience with academic inquiry and real-world application. By combining participatory practice with qualitative and quantitative methods, we support research that is ethically grounded, community-informed and methodologically robust. Our systems-informed approach helps situate research within the wider social, policy and institutional contexts that shape impact. This enables academic partners to strengthen the relevance, integrity and practical value of their work while building more reciprocal relationships with the communities involved.

VCSE Organisations

We work with VCSE organisations to strengthen the insight, evidence and strategy that underpin their work. By combining lived experience with qualitative and quantitative approaches, we help organisations better understand the needs, strengths and realities within the communities they serve. Our systems-informed approach supports VCSE partners to navigate complex policy and funding environments, articulate impact clearly and design services that are inclusive, sustainable and responsive over time. We work collaboratively, building on existing knowledge and relationships rather than replacing them.

Our Approach

Understanding The System

We begin by understanding the wider system within which a challenge sits. Services and programmes do not operate in isolation. They are shaped by policy, funding structures, organisational culture, incentives and power dynamics. We work with partners to explore how these conditions influence outcomes and how systems are experienced in practice. This creates a shared understanding of where change is most needed and where leverage exists.

Generating Credible Insight

We generate insight that combines lived experience with qualitative and quantitative evidence. By integrating participatory methods with structured analysis, we ensure that depth and scale inform one another. This allows us to surface patterns, test assumptions and produce knowledge that is both grounded and credible in decision-making spaces.

Shifting Decision & Power

Insight alone does not create change. We support partners to translate evidence into informed decisions, improved design and more accountable practice. This includes examining who decides, how priorities are set and what incentives shape behaviour. By working across sectors and levels of authority, we help shift conversations from short-term fixes towards more meaningful and sustainable solutions.

Embedding Learning & Accountability

Sustainable change requires ongoing reflection and adaptation. We design processes that strengthen learning, evaluation and feedback so systems can listen, learn and respond over time. This ensures that change is not dependent on a single intervention but becomes embedded within organisational practice and relationships.
